Come pay us a visit at our community space in South Berkeley for our Spring Banjar Open House!

This event is a wonderful way to experience a more casual and intimate look into Gamelan Sekar Jaya as a village of many collaborators based in our banjar building on Shattuck Avenue. There will be performances by Sekar Jaya’s dance ensemble taking place all afternoon as well as tours of our space and drop-in workshops on various Sekar Jaya ensembles. This is also a very special opportunity to meet and express appreciation for our fantastic Guest Artists before they go back home to Bali next week.

Our performances will run from 2:00pm until around 3:45pm, followed by open workshops on some of our instruments. Below is a list of performances in the order they will be showcased:

Rejang Renteng
Tari Pendet
Oleg
Lasan Megat Yeh
Margapati
Geguntangan / Pearjaan

There is a chance that some additional performances will take place as well so be sure to come by early to make sure you get a chance to enjoy the whole day of festivities.
