Each year at the Bali Holiday Faire, Gamelan Sekar Jaya (GSJ) welcomes neighbors and friends into our home to enjoy free live music and dance, shop for handmade gifts, and warm up with delicious Indonesian cuisine. The faire helps GSJ raise critical funds for the upcoming year.
Pre-order shop open until Wednesday
Pre-orders for the Holiday Faire Shop close on Wednesday, December 7 at 5:00 PM to allow our staff and volunteers time to put together orders and transform our banjar for the festivities. But if you didn't get a chance to check out the shop online, never fear! We'll still have an array of items for purchase, including some exclusive items unavailable for pre-order, at our banjar for you to peruse.
Pick-up instructions for pre-orders
The Holiday Faire is held on Saturday, December 10 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM at the Gamelan Sekar Jaya Banjar (3023 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley). If you purchased items for pre-order, simply come to the Banjar during the Faire and visit the pre-order table to pick up your purchase. Shipping is only available for orders over $250. Thank you for supporting our small organization by picking up your orders in person!
Fun activities at the Faire
At the Faire, we'll have homemade bubur, a delicious Indonesian porridge with a number of customization options, and hot coffee and tea to keep you warm while you shop. The bubur will be available for sale from 11am until supplies run out.
One more surprise: this year, we're introducing a raffle! Three winners will each receive a delicious home-cooked Indonesian meal for four, to be scheduled for home delivery between you and the chef. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in person at the Faire. Winners will be announced at 2:30 PM, 3:00 PM, and 3:30 PM. Winners must be present when their number is called in order to claim their prize!
Performances from our gender wayang ensemble, our gamelan angklung ensemble, and our beginner dance students will be held throughout the afternoon, and at 3:00 PM, our musicians will lead a beginner workshop on our angklung instruments. We hope you'll stick around and give it a try!
Items for online sale include Indonesian art and textiles; handmade items from GSJ’s artistic community; GSJ CDs and attire; and artisan items from all over the world. If shopping is not your cup of tea, you can show your support for one-of-a-kind Balinese arts and culture programming by making a tax-deductible donation.

The shop is open at www.gsj.org/shop now until 5pm on December 7! All orders are available for curbside pickup only at 3023 Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley from 10am-4pm Saturday, December 10.

Free community open workshop - learn to play a simple melody and gong cycle on GSJ’s four-tone gamelan angklung instruments. This workshop is suitable for all ages, and parents are welcome to play with their children. Come for the show at 2, and stay to try it yourself!
