Gamelan Sekar Jaya brings the vibrant traditions of Bali to the stage at the Ashkenaz Music and Dance Community Center! Join us on December 14th at 8 PM for an unforgettable evening of Balinese music and dance. Doors open at 7:30 PM, and the show runs from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
This immersive program features the intricate melodies of the Gender ensemble, accompanying the elegant Tari Sekar Harum and the timeless Balinese classic Legong Lasem. After a brief intermission, the program continues with another mesmerizing Gender ensemble performance, followed by the dynamic Tabu (a Gong Kebyar instrumental) and the iconic Teruna Jaya lengkap (a thrilling dance and musical piece).
The performance is led by Fall 2024 Guest Music Director I Dewa Berata, Jegog Music Director I Gede Oka Negara, and Fall 2024 Guest Dance Director Shoko Yamamuro, along with Sekar Jaya’s exceptional dancers and musicians.
